Ice Tide
Walking this morning, I crossed the Biel Burn to a little island to get a better angle for a picture of the Isle of May. I discovered this beautiful sheet of ice all around the shore, where the high tide surface has frozen to a crust over the grass, paper thin and very fragile. You can see the ripples of successive tides adding to the structure, shining brightly in the morning sun.
