My Electric Train

When I was 9 or 10 years old my Father bought me an American Flyer electric train. I has a coal car, a spotlight car, a boxcar, a Barnum and Bailey billboard that whistles, and a caboose.

Over the years it has moved around a few times but has been in my possession for the last 40+ years. I was in the attic bringing down Christmas decorations and I spotted it so I thought I would see if it still ran. I cleaned it, oiled it, put the tracks around the Christmas tree and fired it up. To my amazement it ran as well as it did when I received it for Christmas. Even the lights worked.

I will be 72 years old next Wednesday. Do you think they make anything as well today as they did then?
