Beauty in our midst
When you travel through airports as much as I do they become one of the environments for possible blips. And looking closely at airports hasn't endeared them to me any more. I have come to understand why so many people "steel" themselves for the journey, passing through without really looking, not engaging... more likely cocooning to protect themselves from the chaotic reality of the modern airport and all that goes with it.
and then one day you find something beautiful. The Vancouver airport has some lovely Haida art. Here I caught the reflection of a piece of a Haida carving reflected in a pool that surrounded it. Marble and water and copper trim. Pennies tossed in hopes of wishes to come true. A quiet oasis in the midst of craziness.
Reminds me that you can find beauty anywhere. We just have to look.
