These shoes
Okay, so I missed a day yesterday :'( it was just a day when nothing much happened! Still, I'm back with another image to remember some of today by- a slightly different kind of shot that the snow and all of recently...
These aren't my shoes. They are James'. They caught my eye because they were sitting beneath a poster on the wall of the Trango Towers in the Pakistani Karakorum. I though I might title this Blip "Images of Grandeur"- these wee trainers doing their best to scale the wall of our landing. Trying not to feel insignificant As I stood imagining the plastic cocoons that today's mountaineers wear on their feet.
I guess that they also caught my eye because of the unusual lighting. The "shaft from above" originates form the loft space, the hatch to which is open at the moment. That is because James is replacing the electric shower unit (yes, I have offered to help, but I've been told that there's no need). The solenoid on the old one went the other day. I've been showering at work since then. Still, at least it was an electircal fault, and not frozen plumbing as many people have had to contend with the past few days. With the thaw just now, there will be plenty of people with leaky internal pipes to deal with. A busy weekend if you are a plumber...
James has bought a pretty swish looking new shower. I took a photo of that too, sitting on the sofa wating to be installed. That was going to be my Blip for a while too. I didn't get as far as thinking what I might call that one.
And besides, I like the shoes. They make me wonder where they've been.
