Termite Nest
Another huge day today in the garden! Kaz and I pulled out heaps more bushes and roses. I pulled down the wood shed which was so much fun! We found termites or white ants in some of the wood that was stacked in there and they were also in the railway sleepers that is the fence we are replacing.
Our next door neighbour, Vince, has pulled down the whole fence and cut up the sleepers. He found this termite's nest in one of the sleepers at the bottom of the fence! Vince has sprayed the whole lot so hopefully they will all die and won't come to find a new home in our house!!
I also drove an hour and a half each way to Fawkner to pick up our new fridge that we got off Ebay! It is cooling down now so we can transfer our food over!! It is heaps bigger than our old one so should be good!
I am so exhausted now, it has been a huge four days of gardening! Spence is going to play with Vince's two daughters at their house tomorrow morning so Kaz and I can do some trips to the tip in the morning. It doesn't open until 10am and we have to leave to go to Nik's house for a bbq lunch at 11.30, so it will be a bit of a rush! We still have lots of bushes to load into the trailer to take to the tip!
This termite nest is about 25cm (10 inches) across and very brittle! It fell out of the middle of the sleeper as it was taken off the fence!
