FIORI

This pic uses the old gambit of objects on glass with torches underneath. It is obvious that I need stronger lighting.

These flowers were on our table last night when we went out for an anniversary dinner. We were astounded. The card said they were from Brunella and Danilo Evangelisti. Mama mia, what style they've got! I could barely see the flowers in the candle light but seen at home I could see what an artful arrangement it was and that it contained plants I'd never seen before. Maybe I should have blipped just one of those instead of a conventional flower shot.

We were forced to speak English because the waiter had spent two years in London and wanted to practice.

It was a lovely candle lit romantic dinner for two. I was very daring and had vin santo e biscotti for desert. Himself had green apple sorbet. He said, "Marrying you is the best thing I ever did," which only goes to show what a deprived life he has had.

Thank you, each and all, for the kind good wishes for our night out. And thanks, too, for the good wishes from Gavin, Margaret (Carmichael), Margaret (Thurso) and Gwyn in Scotland, Reed in New York City, Marilyn and Bruce in California.

The only anniversaries I remember are my parents and our own. That's not very good, is it?
