Cafe at the Centre of the Universe
.... well not quite but it is the cafe nearest to the geographical centre of Britain. Now I know some of you may dispute this fact as other locations in the UK claim to be the centre, but according to the Ordnance Survey (best map makers in the world) the geographical centre is just north of Dunsop Bridge in the Forest of Bowland. If further proof were needed BT placed the 1,000,000th pay phone in the village and inside is a little plaque naming it as the nearest phone box to the centre.
Anyway geography lesson over we have been on our annual Xmas trip shopping to the market town of Clitheroe and then onto Dunsop bridge and Puddle Ducks cafe for lunch. Great ham, leek and potato hotpot followed by tea and cake plus big wood burning stove as well. They welcome walkers with muddy boots and if you don't want to sit inside you can enjoy a steaming cuppa outside which is ideal for dog walkers.
