A Jolly Nativity
Today was the annual Nativity of the little Methodist chuch where my daughter attends Brownies. It was truly a community affair, old fashioned, touching, lovely .... and funny!
The angels were all pensioners, dressed in full angel outfits, complete with tinsel halos. Some Brownies were the Wise Men, wearing cardboard crowns, and cloaks made from old curtains, and the Rainbows were the villagers, clothed in tunics made from old bedsheets and curtains, and the tots from 'Parents and Tots Group' were the shepherds. 'Organised chaos', my husband called it, but such a lot of fun, and very enjoyable to watch. It felt like a pantomime at times, when the congregation had to join in!
It was wonderful. Who knew that you could have so much fun in church!
