Berliner Bär

NM is in Berlin today to celebrate his 27th Birthday, Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag!

This bear is a souvenir from my first trip to Berlin in 1989. I spent a week at RAF Gatow in August 1989 when I was in the Air Training Corps. We were fortunate enough to be able to travel into East Berlin (with a military escort, of course).

The wall fell in November 1989 & Berlin has a very different feel to it now.
