In search of Between the Lines - Edinburgh

One of my favourite blips ever is this one, taken on Edinburgh's Royal Mile by Between the Lines (or Pensioner as is sometimes called). I've passed the scene several times since and wondered where he took the shot from, and now I've found out: HE WAS IN THE WHISKY BARREL - why didn't I guess?
