Reflections on a Winter Night
I was driving up the coast after school today, and the sun was bright and loud, with vivid oranges and yellows, partially settled behind a rolling ridge of the Shick-Shocks in the west.
This steeple acts as a lightning rod for the colours every sunrise and sunset, and the movement of the sun in between, because here in the rural landscape of the Gaspe, it's the area's tallest structure.
I missed the colours I first saw. By the time I turned onto the short road leading to the church, I had lost the light's reflection on the steeple that I had wanted, however, I took several shots anyway.
The setting colours had been diluted, but the winter sky was still mirrored in the steeple.
