Today was my first day at work since I got my new camera, and just as I was about to walk in to the carpark outside our building a rainbow lorikeet flew past in front of my nose. It then perched in a jacaranda over the fence, next to a second lorikeet. I whipped out my camera and fired off a few shots. It was at the limit of my 14-42mm lens, but I'm really happy with it - all the moreso because I know my iPhone (which I would have used last week) would have given me a dark tiny patch of bird-shaped smudge against some branches and a washed-out sky. ;-)
