Bad Won't-make-a-bit-of-difference news: - Sad but not surprising

With all the big, heartbreaking things that happened in the world today, this still got me the most riled up. I'm sorry you contracted HIV while 'performing' in a porn shoot Derek Burts, but when you say your first thought after learning of your infection was: I wonder how I contracted that, you are kidding, right? In an industry where promiscuity is celebrated and encouraged by the garbage it puts out, how can you even wonder? You speaking out and calling for the use of condoms in porn movies does not address the basic fact that porn encourages unsafe sex whether there's a raincoat on your wienerdog or not.

Good Very hopeful news: - Sounds complicated

News that is nothing but good for the forests of the world, the animals of the forests and the countries with forests, and ultimately the world. They lose me a bit when they start talking about '"selling credits to major corporations, who could use them to compensate for their own greenhouse gas emissions if they face government regulation in the future." Then again, I'm not an expert on how you get big companies mobilized to participate in a global preservation scheme. It boils down to money again, looks like, but hey, I'm not knocking it.
