The last week of term

I am a teacher so any complaints about the length of the term and how everyone seems tired in the last week tend to fall on deaf ears.

But looking at son #1 as he lay on the lounge floor illustrates the point - he has dark rings under his eyes, he is worn out, he isn't the full of life boy he was seven weeks ago.

Try telling him that he's tired though and he has a dossier of evidence to prove he should stay up just that bit longer.

The five extra minutes that he demanded for reading were curtailed tonight by his falling asleep within one minute.

He can quite easily fall asleep mid conversation - a skill I admire immensely!
