Two Birds with One Stone

So there I was in the half dark this morning - walking the dog ( as usual), thinking 'If the weather continues like this I won't have enough wood to last the winter' when..... CRACK...BANG a large branch fell from an ash tree no more than 6 ft in front of me!

People talk about me being a Glass half full type and it didn't occur to me until later when I re-told the story...

"You could have been sriously injured" she said, whereas I had thought "Firewood and today's blip ... Two birds with one stone!"

here are the two bits I managed to carry home, (They are bigger than they look!!!!) back with the saw tomorrow.
