Du Jour Bistro

One of our favorite Bellingham restaurants, Du Jour Bistro, is closing at the end of the year. It's actually a combination wine store/restaurant. You can go in and choose a bottle of wine to take home, or for $5 more, you can drink it with your meal. That's a lot better than the typical 100% markup on wine at most restaurants. The good news is that the wine store will continue to operate.

Our good friends Andy and Connie have been more faithful customers than we have lately, and we hadn't seen them for a while so we decided to have at least one meal together at Du Jour before it closed. As always, the food was great, and made all the better by good wine and conversation.

We're going back again on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve.

It's not an inspiring photo, but I didn't want the occasion to go unmarked. We sat in the alcove to the right of the empty table. It's cosier in there.

Basement update:

Tiling started this morning. The bathroom floor is completely covered and the laundry room is almost done.
