Invitations

The season of birthdays and spectacles is almost upon us. Last year's end of term spectacle and subsequent birthday party were cancelled due to snow; phonecalls from the schools, a treacherous drive to pick the children up mid-morning and an unsettling glumness in the afternoon. That day the snow brought little consolation.
Today the thermometer hasn't risen above zero and a dark sky looms.
I have relegated the computer to the coldest corner of the house, to stop myself from going on the Meteo France website and counting the snow flakes on the icons for the next couple of days.
We set to anyway, and made the invitations, Miranda humming the songs for the spectacle as she glued and decorated.
Hope we get to hear the words on friday afternoon.....
