What a soulless place

I don't usually give in to grumping, but look what the Roxburgh Hotel in Edinburgh laid on as a "Christmas Disco".

It was a works night out. Two lovely guys who were visiting from India joined the party - their first Christmas party - what must they have thought?

We were served up poor food, given poor service and then subjected to a DJs idea of Christmas disco music - house music. Needless to say everyone high tailed it to the bar - which then closed early. I also had to almost wrestle some mincepies from a waiter who was trying to give them to the two Indian guys (vegetarians) - most include meat suet (fat).

Why do we have to endure such mediocre events at Christmas time?
