Still feeling ropey today. The rubbish part of the at-home parent's job is that even if you're under par you don't get a day off. Chores to be done, baby to be entertained and fed.

Good news though - TPD's school shut at lunchtime today, and after their staff Christmas lunch he came home early. In time to collect Son One from school, and to take both boys swimming. I am mightily relieved, because I didn't feel up to swimming myself, but I felt even less up to restraining Son Two poolside for an hour!

So they've gone out, I'm snuggled on the sofa under a blanket, with a pot of tea (no mince pie because I've not got round to making them yet) watching something suitably schmaltzy and seasonal on the television with the tree lights twinkling and I'm feeling a wee bit happier and more festive.

Yay for the end of term!
