Lots more snow!
Talk about Santa's pizza - deep and crisp and even! - it's amazing! Because of the wind it has drifted too, so piled high in gateways and along the verges.
Yesterday a chap in the village, who has been poorly for a long time, was taken to hospital. They tried to get an ambulance down here, but it couldn't get here because of the snow, so at 7pm the local coast guard guys came down in their Land Rover and took him off to town in it! Because they were three local guys he went off cheery and in good spirits and the excitement of the snow and everything meant he was much less worried than he would have been. He was supposed to be flown to Aberdeen today, but the helicopter didn't get in so he's still in the Macmillan ward at the local hospital. Luckily it is a lovely hospital but hardly the place to be for your 76th birthday . . . .
Ollie and I had a quick wander through the village and onto the hill. The roads are all blocked and no vehicles on the go except tractors. No post either so I had Postie all to myself! Made use of him though - he did some sanding down and varnishing!
