Was supposed to attend the department holiday party tonight, but decided to forgo it because fourth grade daughter came home from school sick with a cold... Poor little thing has been sneezing her nose off and feeling a bit miserable, so I made her that good old standby in our household, Chicken Arroz Caldo.

And since now we can't go out for TGIF cordials, I mixed up some pomegranate martinis for the hubby and myself.

Little girl is feeling a wee bit more comfortable, buttoned up in a warm sweater over her PJs, and reading a favorite book on the sofa, with a mug of hot cocoa and a box of Kleenex on the side.
