See me now!
The glasses have arrived, and I haven't heard this boy squeal so loud and with so much excitement in a long time. He is just ecstatic!
I was very surprised when I picked them up today. I tried them on and was stunned enough to let a "Holy Sh!t" pop out. Fortunately no customers were around, but I could tell the receptionist was less than impressed. I was just so completely amazed at how strong they were. Wow.
He is adjusting well so far. He's watching T.V. straight on instead of bending his head to the left to have his right eye pick up the deficiency. It will be all sorts of fun figuring things out this weekend. Now I only need to order a cheap pair in case anything ever happens to these.
Today was Around the World at my son's school, and I got the opportunity to volunteer. The whole school broke into 5 different groups from K to 8th grade and shuffled between 5 different "countries" and customs. We visited Uganda, America, Mexico, Israel and Italy. It was such an incredible adventure, and I'm so proud of our little K-graders who did so well with all those big kids.
I've come to absolutely adore my son's class. I love spending time with all the little ones. Today I asked one my little followers about her Christmas break. She was instantly sad and said that she had to go stay with her mom. See, she and her little sister live with their dad and are obviously very happy (you can tell) with him. Once she even told me she didn't have a mom. So now I've found that she does indeed have a mom but probably not the kind of mom we would all like a beautiful little girl to have.
I sat with her for a little while and told her that when I was little, I too had to go between my mom and dad's houses for Christmas. I wanted her to know that it is normal and hard to understand why, but now she gets two Christmases instead of just one.
The sad part of the day is that my main computer with all my awesome software has died. I'm not sure what is wrong, but it's been trying to "fix itself" for a few hours. Fortunately I keep all of my photos on a separate drive. I hope they are still safe though.
So tonights image is compliments of Google Picasa and Blipfoto's image tools. Yay!
Update: Managed to get the computer running long enough to fix this photo! Wow, was it poorly colored. It's all good now.
