Best Served Cold

Slip sliding home from the pub at 2.35am (I take some getting out but once I'm out take care, you can't get rid of me, I'm last to leave) the deserted ice-bound village looked magical. I could have photographed the frozen duck pond but I'd already taken 40 of Best Served Cold, the band who gave us villagers a fantastic night of music. They're fronted by my good mate Annie (Haviland). I've worked many times in schools with her, doing our music and poetry show, but in front of an electrified band she's something else! (You don't do some of those moves when we're in schools Annie!!).

The photos are not as good as I'd wished but hope this gives a hint as to what a great night it was. Excellent musicians, wide repertoire (Fleetwood Mac, Pink, Lilly Allen, Radiohead, Blondie, KT Tunstall) and, as I've said, the wonderful Annie.

They went down well. Their first gig here and the landlord has booked them for 2 more (January and April).

So no poem today folks. I finally went to bed about 5am. Not even sure why I'm up.
