Yellow Orchids

I can't tell you how many pics of orchids I took this morning. I don't like any of them but at least they are cheerful. They are separated from the snow outside only by a pane of plastic, which shows they are tougher than they look. The poinsettia, on the other hand, may be beyond saving.

Neighbours arrived in their four-wheel drive vehicle and whisked Himself off to the supermarket. He returned full of the joys for having seen the outside world and some fellow human beings. He collected several old global editions of the N. Y. Times and two parcels from Scotland, which had been left at the olive press for us, and just as I suspected, they are all oily.

The snow is melting, the skies are grey, the forecast is for rain. The last time rain was forecast it turned out to be snow. I hope they've got it right this time. I want o-u-t.
