Whiteout
This was the view from the stair window this morning. (It's a full colour image).
We went out for a brief walk along the Water of Leith later. There were a couple of greylag geese quietly feeding amongst the ducks and gulls, until the swan father noticed them and went for them at full tilt. They didn't take much persuading to fly off. Mr Swan was very full of himself and the two cygnets were taking it all in. Mrs Swan was elsewhere, beyond the bridge - she's seen it all before! We also saw some little grebes, closer than I've ever seen before. We even saw one eating a tiny fish he had caught.
Every time I look at the news I am reassured that we made the right decision not to travel down south this weekend. I think we might have to pop round to the Vaults this evening for something warming. :-)
