Southern Alps
Today I flew to Queenstown for the day - 9am down, 5pm back, for a meeting with a client.
I left Christchurch in pouring rain and arrived in Queenstown in glorious sunshine. Then I sat in a meeting room all day, bummer!
In both directions I had a window seat and I took several hundred images, as you do. I chose this one after 30 minutes of indecision - lakes, mountain, clouds (?) .
It's iconic as that is Mt Cook on the right, NZ's highest mountain. And this a scene you often see - mountain peaks breaking through the cloud.
Here's a previous view, from a different perspective.
