Today's shot wouldn't have happened had my usual train turned up. A cancellation led to half an hour wandering up and down the platform, and a chance to enjoy the frosty landscape.

After a very cold night, we had another spectacular hoar frost, giving the trees a brittle, crystal appearance. The sun was just coming up, and this picture was taken as it was beginning to catch the tops of the trees.

A fortnight ago today, I did another frosty blip from Baildon station. Is there a reason why the deepest frosts are on Sunday night's? Diminished urban heat island effect from closed workplaces and less travel? Discuss...
