NYC Day 2: Ritual Shoeshine

Men read their papers while other men cleaned their shoes.

I woke up early each morning and went for a photo walk. Being part of the scene, watching the city wake up.

On day two, I went by myself to the Frick Gallery. It's absolutely brilliant. My favourite parts were the Vermeers which were totally unexpected and the opposing portraits of Sir Thomas More and Cramner. Foes in real life, staring each other down from opposite side of the fireplace.

Later we explored the Lower East Side. What a wonderful city!
