White-faced heron near the mouth of the Hutt River

I've seen many white-faced herons (Ardea novaehollandiae) before, but never all puffed up like this one. Usually they look sleek and graceful as they feed in the shallows of shorelines and estuaries.

Although I love photographing birds, I haven't posted many imahes on Blipfoto. But here's one of a reef heron (Egretta sacra) which I took in August.
