Edinburgh Winter
Tree from the window during blizzards, Edinburgh December 2010.
Today I tried to paint again with inks and pastels, I tried to capture the feeling of cold and snow blowing in the gales this morning, it's really cold here again minus 8 plus wind chill, hence I did this from the warmth of our kitchen.
I do feel sorry for all the stranded travellers trying to get home for Christmas, not only are the London airports closed but the electric train lines between England and Scotland have now come down due to the ice and minus 20 temperatures last night.
The poor travelers are left stranded in trains, thank goodness we can walk everywhere in Edinburgh to friends and loved ones, even if we have to dress as snowmen.
Oh a good tip for this weather, invest in a Russian or Czeck army "Ushanka" hat they are brilliant, they keep out this Siberian weather nicely and everyone comments on them and wants one, mine arrived yesterday from Moscow, although it did take 4 weeks !!
Oh- note they do them in fake or Rabbit fur.
