It's a wrap
Summer was at nursery today, so Milo and I set off on an adventure to Lancaster to finish the Christmas shopping. Milo was desperate to go by train, so we stood on a remote FREEZING platform for 10 minutes, followed by another 10 minutes after an apology for the delay, only to learn it was cancelled. Now I am certainly not about to complain about a 20 minute wait given the huge disruption some people are facing, but it was that flipping cold that milo was almost in tears and my pin-like legs nearly snapped off on the way back to the car! So we turned up the heaters full blast and sang all the way along the salty horrible motorway.
Milo was an excellent shopping partner, helped along with café breaks, cereal bars and even a grotty *Old MacDonalds Café* lunch. SO that's it done. I have spent the evening switching between nausea at spending too much money and joy at the thought of the kids' faces on Christmas morning.
And who could have resisted this Orla Kiely wrapping paper? Too nice to tape up - I'm going to buy two big frames and pop it up on the wall.
