Moonlight over the village
Today I decided to bite the bullet and head to town for provisions. We try and get food of an everyday sort in the nearby village, about 5 miles away, but for more choice we have to go to the main town. Also needed a light bulb for the cooker extractor hood, which blew in a very impressive way, making a hole right through the connector!
The ice and frost this morning was the worst I have ever seen here, really thick everywhere and it took ages to defrost the car. The single track roads were very icy and slippy, but by the main ones were mostly pretty well gritted and ploughed. It still took ages to get to the town and made for quite stressful driving. So glad I'm not having to do it for work any more! In town the pavements and the car parks were deadly - I was sliding all over the place and I was wearing sensible shoes boots!
By the time I'd shopped and chatted with a few friends it was nearly 3pm and the sun was setting and the moon appearing. Coming down the hill into the village, this was the view that greeted me.
