Cincinnati Art Museum
Tuesday
A rather gloomy overcast day today, but it did actually get above freezing. There was about an inch of fresh snowfall overnight, but the roads, including our cul-de-sac, were already cleared. Though our temperatures haven't been quite as cold as parts of Britain have been experiencing, it has been unusually cold for the month of December - we don't usually get this prolonged cold until January. Apparently it is the 5th coldest December on record, and getting close to record snowfall for the month too, and since we have more forecast for Christmas Eve, we may meet that yet! Roger was working this morning, but took the afternoon off so we could go see the Gainsborough exhibit at the Art Museum. I met him for lunch at our favorite French restaurant which is pretty close to where he works, then we drove downtown. The exhibit was a little disappointing from the point of view of size - from the advertising they've been giving it on the local public radio stations, I was expecting something more extensive. Nonetheless, it was interesting, and we then toured the rest of the museum until they closed at 5 pm.
