Sunshine and Showers

A nor'wester again today, but not so strong and not so hot as it was yesterday, and there were frequent showers and lovely rainbows.

My son is fetching my daughter and granddaughter tonight. They can stay less than 24 hours, so this will be Christmas for me. We are having Christmas dinner tomorrow. I'm going to be very busy until tomorrow evening.

Bird news- the blackbird had a chick fledge this morning and shortly after it was killed on the road. They have lost one on the road with each batch, this year and last year. The parents have been scolding non-stop for hours. The female thrush has finally given up on her nest over the verandah entrance after being harassed by the cat and the blackbirds. However, the male is still singing. Perhaps they will try again somewhere else. Meanwhile, the house sparrows are bringing their chicks to the bird table to feed them. They are so sweet.
