The Icing on the Cake

My usual Christmas tradition is to make a cake, put it away in a cupboard and then forget about it until New Year. Today, however, we got to the icing stage before the big day. This was probably helped by the fact that I actually made 3. One for us, one for my mother and one for hubby's Dad. With a bit of luck & no more snow, they'll get delivered over the next couple of days.
Making the icing was fun -I simultaneously replastered the kitchen. Those guys at Silver Spoon are such jokers! While decorating the cake my daughter remarked that some of the silver balls had no colour. I said that was a bit strange and she said "No, Smarties go colourless when you lick them too!" Hmm.. I guess we'll have to have that one!
Hubby on his way home right now for a couple of days off and maybe even Christmas Day. That would be the icing on the cake.
