Too old to die young

The Pogues at the O2 Academy Brixton

We had been concerned that the advanced age of the members of this fantastic band might have caused them to slow down a bit. Let's face it we grew old together but we need not have worried. The energy was electric just as always. Shane MacGowan slurred his way through the set, just as always. We were amazed he is still standing, 5000 people sang/screamed/clapped/ along with every song and appeared to remember the words better than Shane. The place was heaving and we had a brilliant time. Terrible picture but fantastic gig. I lost my train ticket home and had to buy another one. Stupid or what. However it did not detract from a great night out. Everybody really chatty on the tube and on the train. Must be the Christmas spirit.
