Saguaro Cactus & Unfinished Moon
Another late night out in the desert.
Thank God it's to cold for scorpions and rattlers.
Did have a herd of Javilina come within 30' from me.
But I keep quite and they moved along.
Their not to dangerous,
unless they have little ones with them,
these did not.
These Saguaro cactus can grow to 50' tall,
and 4'-5' around at the base.
The amazing thing is that
they can live 200+ years.
And all kinds of desert birds, from Cactus Wrens to Desert Owls
borrow holes in them and make nests.
In the spring they put out 3"-4" white, nocturnal only,
flowers on the tips of their arms.
It's the state flower of Arizona.
Truly a wonderful desert companion!
Anyway I enjoyed myself again, in solitude.
Just me and the desert!
The way I like it. Smile.
