Perspective
Firstly my apologies to my latest subscriber H2, yes it's another wintry shot, more Ice Floes on the Tay, this time taken from Smeaton's bridge with the Fair City of Perth as the background.
Mrs L wanted to get fresh veg, so we had to toddle off to her favourite supermarket that's a ten minute drive away as opposed to the one that's a five minute walk away. Then we find they've not got what she wants so head back home. To avoid Perth centre we headed round the A9, but ended up stuck in traffic for about half an hour. Finally though we get the fresh veg at the nearby supermarket and get home in time for the lunchtime news and a bowl of soup.
This evening we drove to the railway station to pick up Youngshanks, his train was half an hour late, but given the weather that's a pretty good result. Great to be together for Christmas, although minus Longershanks. He's been able to get off his work in Kampala and get visa and travel arranged to see his girlfriend in Burundi, we heard this morning that he had arrived safely.
So why perspective?
The morning's traffic problem on the A9 that lost us half an hour, lost a man his life, just because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
An articulated tanker, which was travelling north jack-knifed and collided with a McKay of Montrose lorry travelling south. The 57-year-old male lorry driver died and the 23-year-old male, tanker driver suffered serious leg injuries. He's now in hospital where his condition is critical.
Then on the lunchtime news we watched a very emotional appeal from the parents of Joanna Yeates for her safe return, Joanna disappeared seven days ago.
Perspective indeed.
