Pub Run
Tonight was the Annual Infamous International Carnethy Club Pub Run. Carnethy being a hill running club.
This social event involves approximately 10 miles of running, off and on road, taking in 11 Edinburgh pubs and having at least one drink in each. Fancy dress or Santa hats and fairy lights a must!
There was a good turnout of about thirty at the first pub, although some do drop out along the way. Snow made it a bit more effort this year, particularity over frozen ploughed fields. It was a lovely evening with sub zero temperatures but no wind.
Some of the pubs are now either closed or don't exist any more but we still stop for a drink at their sites. This is either carried on the run or supplied by a club member waiting in a car.
For example, the run used to take in the Old Bordeaux pub, but when that was knocked down we would stop for a drink in the gap site. When new flats were being built on the site we had a drink on the building site. We now stop for a drink in the car park of the new flats.
