POMEGRANATE

In India there is a common adage "Ek anar sau bimar" meaning "this one fruit cures hundred ailments".

Rx:

As a tonic: -
Pomegranate juice taken regularly gives physical & mental energy and enhances blood cells and improves blood circulation.

Indigestion & stomach disorders: -
Taking pomegranate juice with powder of roasted cumin seeds and jaggery twice a day eliminates all stomach problems.

Taking seeds of pomegranate with black pepper powder & rock salt sprinkled on it cures stomachache.

Cough & cold: -
Take the rind of pomegranate tree. Make a powder with 1/8 of rock salt mixed with little water and prepare small tablets. Taking one tablet 2-3 times a day relieves cough.

Nose bleeding: -
Taking a small cup of pomegranate juice with sugar candy, 2-3 times a day checks nose bleeding.

Tooth problems: -
Dry the flowers of pomegranate in shade grind & strain. Massaging this powder on teeth helps in curing bleeding gums.

Fever: -
Taking juice of pomegranate is very beneficial in fever.

Foul breath: -
Gargling with boiled water of rind of pomegranate helps in eliminating foul smell.

Heart palpitation: -
Taking 10-12 gms of ground fresh leaves of pomegranate with 1 cup water 2 to 3 times gives relief in heart palpitation.

Intestine & liver problems: -
Taking pomegranate juice regularly cures all intestine & liver ailments.

Miscarriage: -
Applying paste of ground fresh leaves of pomegranate over the lower abdomen (in case of feeling pain) helps in controlling abortion or miscarriage.

Lice: -
Applying a paste of dried ground rind of pomegranate fruit to the hair for 30 minutes and then washing, clears off all the lice.

Jaundice: -
Drinking 10 gms of pomegranate juice (kept in an iron utensil overnight in open covered with a thin cloth) with sugar candy in the morning regularly, helps in curing jaundice.

Beauty treatment: -
Spplying the paste of dried, ground rind of pomegranate mixed with rose water and leaving it for sometime before wash, eliminates spots, freckles on the face & increases the glow of complexion thus making the skin soft & lustrous.
