split up and head south

Had I limitless funds and the inclination to give them to the Royal Mail I would perform a series of experiments such as posting items simultaneously from a number of postboxes across the city repeatedly to build up a picture of the most trustworthy posting-points, posting items from various locations with just a house number and postcode to check that the theoretical minimum addressing works and (the biggie) posting some kind of radio-based location-tracking thingby inside various letters to see exactly where a letter would go if posted in the postbox a few feet from the door when addressed to that very door. How far would it travel in order to end up a few feet north?

Luckily I've given the Royal Mail quite enough money today so will feel no need to perform any further experiments besides seeing what happens to the two parcels I posted to the same location by the same delivery method at different times in different post offices.

I thought that I'd get rid of a blipbank entry today after getting home after work with no photographic evidence of the eight hours and five miles the day had thus far comprised but got this after a further hour and four miles (and a mere ten minutes waiting at the sorting office) which unfortunately means the banked entry must wait for another day or another purpose.
