Castle Eden Dene

Went for a stroll through Castle Eden Dene, to work up an appetite and burn some calories in anticipation of Christmas mega-lunch. The Dene is one of my favourite places and is beautiful all year round. Today it was a hive of activity with birds (woodpeckers, nuthatches, wrens and a woodcock, amongst others) all of whom were apparently camera shy!
