TT ace "Walter Handley"

I pass the graveyard on my regular walk along the canalside and have often glanced at this memorial plaque. Today i decided to take a closer look, and, after dusting away a heavy covering of snow, i discovered it belonged to the above named ""ace"" who heralded from Birmingham. He unfortunately lost his life in active service in 1941 aged just 38 flying with the Air Transport Auxillary. The grave looks untended and although it is a sad image i wanted to highlight his life although i had no previous knowledge of his existence. RIP.
