Quintessentially Kiwi. Quintessentially Christmas.

We got up and raced around getting things done and giving presents. Got to bed at 4 and up again at 8, so pretty pooped.

Then it was off to the airport and a quick trip up north to Auckland.

A lovely day with a lovely family. Got to hold a three-day-old baby for a while, which was a bonus.

Rae and I went for a walk after lunch while everyone else snoozed. We got to see these treats. Lots of people enjoying a quintessentially Kiwi Christmas.

We headed back to Hamilton and got to bed just after one.

Pretty tired, but having spent a very pleasant Christmas day.

Sad not to catch up with the fandambly via Skype, but hopeful it might happen tomorrow.

Man, have I been spoilt? So many wonderful presents from so many kind and thoughtful people.

B and Rae were just so generous. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends.
