In Retrospect: Lost

November 2009; we're on our way to Ty Newydd, formerly the home of prime minister David Lloyd George, and now a writers' retreat. It's located near the shore of Cardigan Bay, but that vague description isn't exactly an immense help in navigating the highways and byways of Wales. After five circuits of Chester, a couple of near-accidents, an impromptu tour of Anglesey and a detour down a road to nowhere, we decide to betray our manly principles and consult a map.
