Plaything of the rich and famous.
A guy with his boat here told me that the marina had been constructed by the local luxury yacht company Astondoa and that he thought that it was likely to be a tax dodge of some kind. He said that they made too much money making and selling their yachts.
We are surrounded by these high priced plastic toys. I have yet to see any of them move, but there is an army of people who regularly run the engines and keep them ready for their owners to take out. I hope that when they are old and past their best that they have done an good number of miles, however there must be too many that have been left in marinas, un-used and un-loved until their owners decide they want a new toy.
GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) is not the most environmentally friendly material. I like it but if you are going to have a boat in GRP you need to at least make good use of it to justify it being a little less than carbon neutral.
We are off to Torrent to visit with Ms MH's cousin tomorrow so hope to have blipping opportunities to share with you.
Not getting nearly enough time to look through others blips, I am really sorry to miss such great images, but with visitors time just evaporates. I will be able to catch up in a couple of weeks and leave some feedback.
