Merry Christmas everybody....
not my best picture today but it best sums up the day.
This is the best part of Christmas day for me. Me and my boys in bed with our stockings.
We spend a good couple of ours opening them snuggled up with al the fairy lights lit. We had had a reallt bad night with Alfie and he woke up quite grumpy so we were concerned that it would spoil the morning but a resorative breakfats did the trick and he perked up no end and really got into the swing of opening it all. I had the best stocking ever this year, vvvv spoilt with allsorts of goodies.
Then up and about for baths, showers etc. and sart the food prep (or not!)
Both Mums came to us again laden down with parcels, the fire was lit, pink fizz opened and veggies dealt with, turkey in the oven and off again with the pressies.
Alfie got a big pile of Chugginton stuff from Father Christmas (and tesco vouchers!), a bike from us and a Radio Flyer wagon (from selling his buggy ;-) ).
Meccano and playmobil were the other big hits form both mums.
Stuart always does the main meal with help from his mum as mine does it again on Boxing day. I get to supervise the fire and Alfie and the gifts :D, Mum does the drinks. It works for us.
Masses of fabulous pressies for all and my main was very unexpected!!!! I had asked for a zoom lens for my Pen (e-p1) but retracted it as being tooo much for me to have. Having opened a few bits I was sure I wasn't going to get it as I had been so well looked after already but then the last box was sat under the tree....
Not only a lens but the Pen e-pl1 body too!!!! So I can look dead cool and switch camera around now :-). Love it so much and have to say shed a tear or 2 as I was so lucky.
It was one of the best Chritmas days we have had for a very long time. Everybody on fantastic form, Alfie coped well with a very late meal (didn't sit down until 8pm and was still cheery at 10.30pm!!!
Stuart retired after a touch of red wine a little later and as a treat to him I blitzed the house to get up to. Then I sat and watched a silly film with a glass of fizz and just the lights of the Christmas tree, glorious end to a wonderful day.
