Dull places sometimes look beautiful

This was my last day of work before my six day holiday week, a busy day with not many exciting things happening. The city is filling up now with all the tourists coming for the New Year celebrations in Edinburgh and everything is starting to get busier, so I'm really glad I'll be off this week! :)

I took this picture this morning at around half eight on my way to work, when it was still a bit dark. This lane is rather uninteresting and dull but, for some reason, this morning I thought it looked rather beautiful, although in a sort of eery and sad way.

So anyway, off tomorrow and planning to get to the gym after more than a month of doing nothing of the sort. Let's see what happens!
