Controversial blip from the House of Spirited!

This morning was the traditional " Boxing Day" meet of the Belvoir Hunt ( pronounced Beever) in the town centre. Obvioulsly boxing day was yesterday but they don't hunt on Sundays. The weather was awful, rain and sleet ,and I thought there might only be a small crowd to see them off but to my surprise there were several hundred.

The hounds were penned in a small gated garden next to the Guildhall and adults and children mingled with them chatting with the huntsment before they rode off. I was amazed that the " Whipper In" knew all the hounds by name and did his best to keep the pack together. After mingling for a short while the hunt headed off to rousing applause from the crowd...pretty militant lot these country folk!
