Rust
Day 105
Walk on the beach with papa mac and meg.
i think this bit of machinery would have been for winching boats and creels out of the water. It's probably not as old as it looks, i'd image the salt spray has speeded up the process.
It made me think of a poem i studies for higher english, .'The Horses' by Edwin Muir. The poem is about the effects after a nuclear war, and our return to a simpler way. This picture made me think espesially of the lines
'The tractors lie about our fields; at evening
They look like dank sea-monsters couched and waiting.
We leave them where they are and let them rust:
'They'll molder away and be like other loam.'
